Welcome to University Consortium of Pori, Finland May 9. – 10. 2017
GamiFIN is organised by the University Consortium of Pori. GamiFIN brings together people not only from different fields of academia but also from different sectors such as companies and other institutions. Exciting lectures are concentrated on e.g. the current state of the art in the field of academic research on gamification, why gamification needs theory and how to transform ordinary tasks into extraordinary experiences.’
Gamification is the use of game thinking and game mechanics in non-game contexts to engage users in solving problems and to increase their motivation and contributions (Lue: Miksi pelillistäminen? – viisi hyvää syytä). Gamification has been studied and applied in several domains, with some of the main purposes being to engage, teach, entertain, measure, and to improve the perceived ease of use of information systems. Typically gamification applies to non-game and non-entertainment applications and processes, in order to encourage people to adopt them, or to influence how they are used.
“We are excited to be a part of this event. It is always interesting to meet fellow colleagues from the gamification field. I believe we can bring concrete gamification experiences to the academic discussion from the worklife perspective”, states Jukka Koskenkanto, CEO Cloudriven
Jukka’s presentation will be held on Wed May 10. Come and join us in Pori or request the video of the presentation afterwards.
